The temperature is read and controlled by a Digital P.I.D Indicator-cum-Controller provided for each cell. The cell is provided with only one inlet at the bottom from which the air enters and leaves the cell through the lid passing over the samples. The lid itself has the provision to hold the samples to be tested in the Ageing Oven
Individual On/Off Switches are provided for each cell. By putting the switch to ‘ON’ position, the Main Line to the Oven through the respective Controller is energized. Apart from this there is another Indicator provided which indicates that the current to the Heaters is flowing in. In other words, the P.I.D Controller, Output Indicator and the other Load Indicator go On and Off simultaneously
The Ageing Oven is specially designed to meet the requirements of IS, IEC, BS & other International standards for testing of Plastic & Rubber samples.
The Oven consists of a Heating Cell made of thick Aluminum sheet

The heating is carried out by specially designed heaters placed outside the cell duly insulated in order to provide minimum heat loss.
Time Total: It is provided on the Panel to record the number of hours the Oven has been in operation. The Time Total starts functioning immediately after the On/Off Switch is put to operation.
Connect the Air Line to this Nozzle in order to allow the air to enter the cell, through the Flow meter.
Flow meters are provided on the Oven in order to control and read the no. of air changes taking place in the Oven at a given time.
The fine needle valve provided on the Flow meter controls the quantum of air to be given into the Oven in order to maintain the required no. of changes.
Thermoplastic and elastomeric insulation & sheath exposed to heat are subjected to many types of physical & chemical changes. The severity of exposures, both in temperature. & time determines the extent & type of change that takes place. This test makes an assessment of change in tensile strength and elongation of materials on subjecting them to accelerated ageing in air.
Oven designed to provide 8-20 changes of air per hour, at controlled temperature and extended duration up to 72 hours or longer.
